Using Wireless Networks

Wireless networks have various rates of performance and are split into several categories know as standards. The most commonly used are 802.11g (54Mbs transfer rate) and the most recent 802.11n (270Mbs transfer rate).

A wireless network can be very useful as either an extension to an existing wired network or on its own to provide wireless connectivity for you devices. With wireless systems there are fewer cables to connect and of course devices attach to the network without a cable so giving you freedom to move around.

Although some devices do not offer the same data transfer rates as wired networks and security but be put in place to maintain the integrity of existing networks wireless network devices are useful and offer solutions to such problems as multiple separate buildings on a single campus.

To ensure the continued health and performance of your wireless network and its associated devices consider our Managed Services suite and have a look at our Network Monitoring and Remote Network Management services for more information.
